As a member of the Lucas Oil motorsports empire, Kyle Lucas began racing at the ripe age of nine, when he began competitive go-kart racing. He worked his way through the ranks and eventually into the dirt, racing off-road buggies in the short course arena. In 2011, he began his migration into the realm of trucks with his move into the SuperLite Championship truck class through the SuperLite Arrive & Drive program.
